Partners of the MZCPE
The MZCPE has not happened on its own and has relied on a number of partners in its development and management. The MZCPE has the mission of 'Conservation through Collaboration' and together with these partners, that is what it achieves. Implementation Partners - Coordinators of the establishment of the MZCPE
SANParks is a committed formal partner to the MZCPE guided by a Memorandum of Agreement. SANParks has been the declaration partner and has been responsible for the creation of the MZCPE and all it entails.
Wilderness Foundation Africa was partnered with SANParks to intiate the project in 2012 and saw the submission of the first phase 'Intention to Declare' application to the Minister.
The UNDP drove the UNDP:GEF 5 programme that saw work built onto the foundations of the MZCPE including the creation of the MZCPE management plan and the further expansion of the Protected Environment.

Content for New div Tag Goes HereThe CEPF funding was made available through Wilderness Foundation Africa and funded the original project from 2012-2014.
The UGEF funding was made available through the UNDP and the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment for the period of 2016-2021 implemented by SANParks

Content for New div Tag Goes HereThe MZCPE is declared by the Minister of DFFE and works closely with the partner to achieve the conditions of declaration and conservation effort guided by the department's mandate.
The MZCPE recognises the provincial conservation agency and works with them to achieve mutual objectives. ECPTA declared the Compassberg Protected Environment which neighbours the MZCPE and the two Protected Environment envision formal partnership oppertunities
Visit their siteThe MZCPE has always included DEDEAT in the formulation of the Protected Environment and always looks for ways to align with the mandate of this provincial authority. The MZCPE also includes 5 conservancies that are guided by DEDEAT.

The MZCPE has included surveys of Black-footed cats under their Species of Special Concern Programme
The MZCPE particpates in projects coordinated by the Bionerds team and these projects are listed on the Species page
Rhodes University has been coordinating bio-control releases across the MZCPE
The MZCPE is coordinated by a steering committee that routinely changes. The steering committee does not occupy an office, therefore contact should be initiated via email and follow up communications will follow via a suitable platform guided by the right representative.
